is a village round a central place with ponds.
It consists of farms and some residential buildings and has
about 140 inhabitants.
The settlement was founded before 1368 by Albrecht Nothaft from Thierstein.
He ordered to build 12 farms and some shelters.
In 1818 there was founded the political municipality Hebanz. Besides of
the name-giving village it consisted of Schwarzenhammer, Kaiserhammer,
Karolinenhain and Ruggenmuehle. This municipality was liquidated
by a territory reform in 1978. Since then Hebanz belongs to Marktleuthen.
